Simply Momtastic

Click the title link, please. I'm not sure if she is a social worker but she has written one of the best, most comprehensive posts on what to do when Child Protective Services comes knocking on your door that I have ever read. She also has other cool stuff on there for those still in the child-bearing years. Definitely worth the read :)

  1. Thanks for the post. My brother's girlfriend is in a situation with her daughter where if the child doesn't get what she wants, she calls CPS on her mother. =(

  2. now you see, here is where I would draw the line. children need to understand what foster care is like and know that is where they will end up if the state has to remove them from their home. this is not always the case but i sure would have them believing it(especially if she was using it to manipulate me)and would make sure she visited a couple state run group homes and maybe even a jail or two. my boy has only had his butt busted a few times in his life. One of the times was when he was about 3 and showed his royal behind right in front of some rich yuppie bitches that decided because i walked away from the child (not far enough i couldn't get to him if i needed to) that i was negligent in his care and abusing him (i must have been because he was screaming and falling out on the ground, right?) and proceeded to call the law on me...not child protective services but atlanta pd. this is a very long story but the minute we finally got home i called his uncle and told him what happened and asked him to come over and do it. not that i didn't want to but because i knew if i was to lay a hand on that child at that moment i would have seriously hurt him, i had to have time to get my own anger under control but he also needed his butt busted by a man so he would get the full implication of what he had done. they had a long talk and then he got his butt busted really well and never threw a fit in public again. he threw plenty in private, don't get me wrong, just never in public again.

  3. Well her mother doesn't know what to do with her. She said she told the case worker to go ahead and take her so she could see what it was like to be in foster care and he wouldn't take her. He said she can't just give her to them, they'd have to go to court and lots of red tape etc. She just wanted to scare her, and the guy wouldn't cooperate. Sheesh. When she called the cops on her one time, the officer told her what she needed was a great big spankin'. He's right.
